our history:

Afterfly was established in 2012 when its founder first heard an exciting tale about a vibrant music festival that was set to take place in his hometown of Dover, Delaware. This festival was none other than the renowned Firefly Music Festival. With his passionate love for music and deep-rooted connection to his hometown, this was a perfect combination for him. Especially since the highly anticipated festival was conveniently taking place directly across the street from his property. Over the years, Firefly Music Festival grew to become one of the largest music festivals on the east coast, drawing in music enthusiasts from far and wide. In response to this influx, Afterfly became a fan-favorite destination as we opened our welcoming home to accommodate the overflow of campers and festival patrons seeking a place to stay during this iconic event.

We have now reached the exciting time of Metamorphosis! Afterfly has always served as a welcoming home for both artists and fans alike. Now, Afterfly is taking significant strides to put a renewed focus on hospitality and production to ensure a top-tier experience for everyone involved. Our objective is to create a unique retreat that emphasizes the importance of providing the space and opportunities for expression and creativity to flourish.

For years, the event has continuously evolved into what it is today, thanks to the tireless work of the incredible Afterfly team, dedicated volunteers, and especially Gatsby, the visionary founder of Afterfly, who continues to push the vision forward, striving to provide a safe space and a fabulous experience for everyone involved.
